What's the difference between your show prep and other services around?

In the case of Bitz and Pieces, this is one of the internet's longest running prep services - going back to 1997. We've been around for some time and have learnt how to write topical material that gets used - plus we constantly refresh the features every few months and add new daily ideas and bits to use in your show. We also won a Sony Radio Academy Award in 2001 for Bitz and Pieces - and how many other prep services have won a prestigious radio award? NONE! The Murf Media team also make the material useful for stations not just in the UK, but all over the world (unlike many other US show prep services).

Bitz and Pieces is more expensive than other prep services, why?

You have to pay for quality. That means we also have to pay for quality comedy writers. Unlike a lot of prep sheets, which can be written by one or two people, Bitz and Pieces is written by a team of 12 professional comedy writers and radio presenters. But the amount of quality material you get in Bitz and Pieces speaks for itself - check for yourself - on average more than 16 A4 pages a day (and no we don't use a 20-point font!).

My Programme Controller says I have to make my show local?

Fine, that's what local radio is all about - and that's where our prep services are invaluable. Bitz and Pieces stories, for instance, can be adapted quite easily - a survey of people could be "a survey of people in (your town)". The phoner ideas also lead to lots of great local content. As for our audio service, well we also supply the scripts and beds for each piece - not just the full version. That means you can personalise it to your own town or city by altering the wording slightly... and add your own voice!

I'm not sure I'd use all of the material?

Well, very few presenters would!! There's loads of material in Bitz and Pieces - and some would suit one jock more than another. Perhaps you'd never get away with the risque gags - whilst another presenter would ONLY use rude lines! We try and cater for every type of show and style of presenter... so some DJ's may only use a handful of gags - whilst others may prefer phoner ideas and competitions. How much you use is up to you - it's what you get out of it that counts.

Can I be sure someone else in my market isn't using it?

Yes, if you sign a Market Exclusive deal! Obviously this is more expensive though. However, remember that you may use different material from your competitor - and not all radio listeners are radio anoraks like us - if your show's good, with good material - they'll stay listening to just you!

My boss won't pay for it - what should I do?

It's often the case that you have to pay for show prep out of your own pocket - but then again, it is your career! Think of it as an investment in your future - and earning potential once your listening figures go up!! Oh, and it's tax deductible! We also discount the price for a presenter to subscribe rather than a radio station directly. We're also told some jocks would rather leave at least some of their show prep to someone else so they can spend more time doing other things that bring in the money... like nightclub P.A.s. Others like more quality-time with their family, or an an extra hour in bed in the morning! Think about how you value your own time and your own career.

What if I wish to cancel the service?

That's no problem - we just need one month's notice to do so - so your next payment date (normally on the 1st) will be the last. Murf Media only accept cancellations online - so there's no confusion when emails or letters go astray. The link is www.fmjock.com/cancel.
